Stamford AFC Club Shop

Deeping Rangers won their first pre-season friendly 2-1 at Netherton with a mouth watering clash against  a Peterborough United tXI to come this Saturday.

Scott Mooney and Dave Burton-Jones were on target in the win on Saturday.

Manager Mike Goode said: “It was a good run out. We used 19 players three of whom were under 18s and it was good experience for them. Scott Coupland, Charlie Ward and Richard Stainsby were missing from our squad.”

Goode also revealed that Charlie Coulson has signed for the club despite interest from Rushden and Diamonds.

Saturday’s home match with POSH will herald the opening of the new tea hut and hospitality suite.

“We are excited to test the new facilities out. It is great for the club to have a league club to play against. We know they will play in the right way and it should be a good game of football.” Goode added.

Before that, Deeping take on Bourne Town on Tuesday night, which is a 7.15pm kick off at Milking Nook Drove.

The admission price for the POSH friendly is £6 with concessions at £4, kick off is 3pm.
